BIP Toolbox Overview

The BIP Toolbox is a modular bioinformatics pipeline. The goal is to create a system for the storage and analysis of various types of biological sequence data. Each module performs at least one type of analysis or a group of related analysis steps. All data is stored in a database for retrieval and further analysis.

Data
These databases contain the following data :

  • Transcript ID
  • mRNA/cDNA/EST sequence
  • CDS region
  • Functional annotation
  • Library/tissue information
  • Alignment to the genome, including exon/intron structure Transcript clustering

The data can be retrieved based on criteria provided as an SQL query. Example queries are:

  • Select all transcripts which match a particular functional annotation
  • Select all transcripts from a given tissue
  • Select all transcript clusters which have member transcripts from a given set of tissues/libraries.
